What is F2P Evo?
F2P Evo is a cross-platform game launcher for Hytale built with Tauri 2, Vue 3, and Rust. It provides free-to-play multiplayer support, mod management, social features, and automatic game updates.
Available for: Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon (M1+), Linux x64 (including Steam Deck)

- Windows — .exe installer (Windows 10+ required)
- macOS — .dmg (Apple Silicon only, M1+)
- Linux — .AppImage (recommended), .deb, .rpm
Installation
Windows
- Download the .exe installer
- Run it. Windows SmartScreen may warn — click More info then Run anyway
- On first launch, allow through Windows Firewall
macOS
- Download the .dmg
- Open and drag to Applications
- The app is signed and notarized — opens without issues
Linux / Steam Deck
- Download the .AppImage
- Make executable:
chmod +x F2P_Evo*.AppImage - Run it
First Launch
- Launch F2P Evo
- Enter your desired username
- Click Play — the game downloads automatically (~2 GB first time)
- Java is detected and downloaded automatically — no manual installation needed

Playing Multiplayer
Join a Server
- Go to the Servers tab in the launcher
- Browse or search for F2P-enabled servers
- Click Connect on any server
Host for Friends (LAN/UPnP)
- Start a singleplayer world
- Open the in-game menu and enable Online Play
- Share the generated invite code with friends

Troubleshooting
- SmartScreen warning — Click "More info" then "Run anyway" (app is not code-signed with EV certificate)
- Game won't start — Update your graphics drivers
- Java errors — Launcher downloads Java automatically, restart if stuck
- Can't connect to server — Server may not have F2P/DualAuth enabled
- macOS crash — Re-download the .dmg from the releases page
System Requirements
Minimum: Intel i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 / Apple M1, 8 GB RAM, GTX 900 / RX 400, 20 GB SSD
Recommended: Intel i5-10400 / Ryzen 5 3600 / M2, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1060 / RX 580, 20 GB NVMe SSD
ARM64 Windows, ARM64 Linux, and Intel macOS are not supported by the game.
